Modeled after the original Israeli Police Cap, (and now available exclusively through Cherries to US law enforcement), the Cap enables off-duty and plain clothed law enforcement to be immediately identifiable (to responding patrol) when forced to draw their weapon in an active shooter or terrorist attack-reducing the risk of accidental friendly-fire.
These caps have been critical for Israel's counter terror tactical response capabilities where Israel's off-duty officers are a major component of the tactical response protocol (off-duty personnel are typically first on scene and therefore first to respond). These caps are mandatory for everyday carry for all plain clothed/off-duty law enforcement for immediate identification.
